About Verizon Wireless
Verizon Wireless was created in the year 2000 when two major communication companies, Bell Atlantic Corp. and GTE Corp. merged together.
Over the years, Verizon played a role in creating many past and present wireless communication standards, from 3G and the old-fashioned two-year cell phone contract to picture messaging and the first smartphones.
Today, Verizon is known for its wide coverage and excellent service, as well as being one of the top cell phone providers in the United States.
They aim to “enhance the ability of humans, businesses, and society to do more good.”

What is the Official Verizon Wireless Military Discount?
Verizon is one of those companies that goes above and beyond when it comes to treating military members with the respect and honor they deserve.
You can see all of the ways Verizon gives back to service members in this OMK article.
As for the actual Verizon Wireless military discount, there is special pricing in place for military members who sign up for an Unlimited Plan, another deal for other types of plans, and a 10-25% discount on accessories purchased in-store or online.
To show an example of how much these military discounts can save you, the exact military pricing for Unlimited Plans (and how it compares to the normal pricing) is shown below:
*Costs shown on a per-line basis
- 1 Line Military Cost: $60 1 Line Typical Cost: $70
- 2 Line Military Cost: $47.50 2 Line Typical Cost: $60
- 3 Line Military Cost: $36.66 3 Line Typical Cost: $45
- 4+ Line Military Cost: $30 4+ Line Typical Cost: $35
The prices above are for the Start Unlimited plan, which is the most basic Verizon Unlimited option.
The military discount will work for all levels of the Unlimited plans, and the prices follow the same type of discount model.
You can view the different Verizon Unlimited plans and what they include here.
To see the exact military discount pricing for each of these plans, click here.
As you can see, the military discount will save you a significant amount of money no matter which plan you choose or how many lines you sign up for.
A couple of additional perks that come along with the military discount include all deposits being covered by Verizon if you sign up on a military base, and the ability to freeze your account when you’re deployed if you would like to.
These perks may seem somewhat small, but when you think of the hundreds of dollars you may spend on deposits, or the monthly bill you’d pay when you may not even have cell service abroad, they offer huge savings potentials as well.
Non-Unlimited Plans and the Verizon Military Discount
Unlimited plans are great, but they aren’t for everyone.
If you are a person that simply does not need or want an unlimited plan, you can still save with the Verizon military discount.
When you sign up for a different Verizon plan, you’ll get 15% off as a military member.
The monthly charge for your plan does need to be above $35 for this deal to work. however.
Percentage-Off Discount on Accessories
The Verizon Wireless military discount is not just for phone plans.
You can also save when you buy accessories in-store or online.
If you shop in-store, most accessories will be 10% off.
Online, these same items will be 25% off.

Who Can Claim this Deal?
The Verizon military discount comes with extremely generous eligibility standards.
First, the deal is available to all current military members. This includes those who serve in the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines in Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard roles.
Cadets who are currently training in an ROTC program or who are enrolled in a U.S. military academy can claim this deal as well.
The deal extends to past military members, including veterans and those who are retired.
